Journey of the Kingdom People...
If you came to this blog post based on the title, there is a good chance you are looking for something different. Status quo doesn’t impress you- you’ve seen far too much and you don’t have time for fakery.
Maybe you attend church services, maybe you don’t, or maybe you used to. But there’s something unsettling and unresolved about life that you can’t stop trying to figure out. Maybe you’re tired of all the different voices coming at you- political voices, religious voices, celebrity voices, life coaches and gurus and everyone else who thinks they have the answers.
Maybe you feel out of place a lot, like you can’t seem to find “your people”- yeah you may have friends and co-workers and family that you get along with. But the deeper things within your heart don’t connect with 99% of what’s on the outside of you.
You want God- but not the whole complicated drama that the religious world has become and makes Him out to be. You want to know why you are here, and what does God really want from you.
I think you’ve come to the right place- not for perfect answers…not for more empty religious promises of a perfect life… but a place where there are others who are seeking to know and follow God and the joy of the abundant life He offers.
You are seeking the Kingdom.
“Seek first the Kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things will be added unto you.” -Matthew 6:33
Have you ever noticed that the things that people are most concerned about are their own health, safety, well-being, and prosperity? Everyone is trying to carve out their place in this world- to find a sense of importance… of validation.
Everyone wants to generate and leave a personal legacy..to be remembered for being great and doing notable things. Everyone wants to build their own kingdom.
That’s why people stay worried- worried about what they have, what they will eat and drink, how it will be perceived by the world. Not only do people subconsciously ask, “am I enough?”, they wonder “Do I have enough?”
Jesus knows we need things in order to survive this existence. But He also knows that we need something else much, much more. He knows that our intrinsic significance extends far beyond the confines of this temporal life. He knows that we were created for a far greater purpose than simply surviving from one day to the next and having enough food and clothes.
We were created for the Kingdom.
Also known as….
The Kingdom of God
Or the Kingdom of Heaven.
Instead of trying to build our own kingdoms, God invites us to come into His.
Make no mistake- the aim of God’s kingdom is not about taking saved souls to heaven. It’s about the rule of God taking over the earthly realm through His people, with Jesus as the ever reigning King.
“...On earth as it is in heaven” -Matthew 6:10
The kingdom of God is not about weekly religious duty, served for two hours, followed by a return to personal drudgery and selfish pursuits.
The Kingdom is about the reign, the rule, and the life of Jesus being expressed in His people- all day, every day, all over the world.
That’s why you cannot be satisfied with the common, modern day version of Christianity. So much of it has absolutely nothing to do with the gospel of Jesus or the Kingdom of God.
You want more-and God has so much more planned for you, and me, and everyone who wants to know what He has really been up to for all these millennia.
It’s not a secret, and God isn’t keeping the Kingdom from anyone. It’s available to anyone who desires it.
If I’m honest, I don’t know the full scope of what it is- but I have been seeking it for years now, endeavoring to practice it, and have experienced beautiful glimpses of it throughout the years. The more I see, the more I want to see it spread and take over the world...
The love of God
The life of God
Peace on earth
Good will toward men
Forgiveness of sins
Salvation
Restoration
Liberation
Joy
Fellowship
The joint inheritance of Christ and the Church
The Kingship of Jesus
And so much more that I can’t even name or explain!
“Eye has not seen, nor ear heard, nor have entered into the heart of man the things which God has prepared for those who love Him.” I Corinthians 2:9
It’s a journey of discovery to a way of life that we can participate in right here, right now on earth. This is what God invites you and me into.
If you decide to go on this journey, or if you are already on it and are seeking fellow travelers- come check back here once per week. I will share what I believe the Lord is showing me and I will invite you to share as well.
Let’s follow Jesus together and seek the Kingdom.
"Repent, for the Kingdom of Heaven is at hand." -Matthew 4:17

Until next week, I’ll leave you with some lyrics I’ve been bouncing around. I may use them for a new song. They are raw and will need setting and editing. But these are my intimate thoughts about the kingdom. I would love to hear yours. Leave a comment in the comment section and let me know what you think about being a Kingdom Person.
Kingdom People..
Not part of a religious movement
Nor mass hysteria
We are not worldly revolutionaries
Nor seekers of an Eden reborn
We are a called out people
A kingdom people
Living under the rule of the Eternal One made flesh
An other-worldly government made for a new heaven and a new earth
Not just waiting for a chance to go to heaven
We are preparing for a new way of life
Inaugurated by the Resurrection of the Lion and the Lamb
We too will be transformed by His resurrection power
We worship while we wait
We serve while we wait
We love while we wait
We practice while we wait
The ways of the Kingdom
Of a creation made new
On earth as it is in heaven
Creation groans in anxious anticipation
Of the children of the Living God to be revealed
It’s coming and it’s already here
Here inside of all of us.
It's here.
